We organised a pop-up event during Amsterdam Dance Event. Arriving from France, we had expected to spend some time on soundcheck, but upon arrival it wasn't needed: it sounded right straight away. Warm, full, and the DJs were happy with the monitoring. You can tell the service is run by someone who is a DJ himself and knows what a DJ needs.
During Amsterdam Dance Event, a skate hall was converted into a dancefloor for a one-off pop-up event. The brief had two objectives: to give the venue a new function and atmosphere for one night, and at the same time deliver a reliable technical setup for the French DJ Rivo.
The setup consisted of rider-proof DJ gear, a professional mixer, an RCF front-of-house system and separate monitor speakers. Battery-powered lighting accentuated the DJ booth and coloured the surroundings. HEAR took care of transport, installation and technical support.
The artist's team reported that hardly any soundcheck was needed: it sounded right straight away and the DJs were happy with the monitoring. They also appreciated the proactive communication beforehand about things like media player software updates and compatible memory sticks.
